This display, in the school entrance hall, showed the clay divas (Diwali lamps) made by children in Class One. They studied Hinduism and read the story of Rama and Sita, the origin of the Diwali festival, then created their own divas, painting them with pearlescent paints and decorating them with sequins. They wrote instructions about how to make them and retold the Rama and Sita story in their own words, as well as finding out what Hindus do during the festival.Friday, 24 July 2009
