French cafe

Classes Three and Four took part in a role play together, acting as customers and waiters/waitresses in a French cafe, to practise their conversational French. As well as preparing menus to use, they were also able to taste some French cheeses and other foods.

Easter Service

Year Six led our Easter Service in St. Peter's Church, telling the story of Easter. The service was well attended by parents and all the children participated. Well done to all those pianists who played beautifully for the congregation and to our guitarist too.

Science Week

The children have had an amazing mix of fantastic opportunities this week to get involved in scientific enquiry, discussion and generally gain an understanding of just how much science is all around us.  A very big thank you to Mrs Welsh and Mrs Tench, who as part of our application for the Science Award, have been really dedicated to the organisation of the week. We very much appreciate the time and effort they have put in.

Solar eclipse

Thank you to all those parents who helped their children make a solar eclipse viewer for this morning. They were very lucky to have such a fine, clear morning to get a great view of the eclipse. Lots of discussion followed about what an eclipse was and how it happened.  They were fascinated!

Art Day

The school hosted an Art Day on Saturday, inviting children from other primary schools to join us for the day. Children from Tarvin and Delamere attended and were fantastic representatives of their schools. The theme of the day was a 3D focus on making 'nature boxes' and all the children worked really hard, with great concentration, to achieve some really good results.

Red Nose Day

Thank you to everyone who supported Red Nose Day. The photo shows some of the children with a variety of 'funny faces' which they wore for the day! We raised a total of £130.93 from contributions donated. Well done to all.

Big Bang

Everyone had a really enjoyable day today, as all children from Years One to Six travelled to the NEC at Birmingham to visit the 'Big Bang' science exhibition. From the science shows to the activities which children could get involved in, there was a huge variety of things for them to do and to see. Thank you to all our parent helpers and staff, who took such good care of the children during the day and to Mrs Welsh and Mrs Tench, who organised the trip.  Thank you also to all those parents who got their children up early and got them to school on time to leave together!

Joseph and his amazing technicolour dreamcoat

Children in Years Two and Three went to Crewe this afternoon to see the performance of Joseph. The performance was brilliant and the children (as well as the staff!) loved it. Thank you to the School House Trust for funding this visit.
